'Big Ed' Glasby – Field Captain - Organiser of the Wednesday night shoots.

One of our keenest archers having managed to attend more shoots than anyone in a season for the past 5 years, and has shown that practice makes perfect.

He won the prestigious Fraternity Of Saint George ‘Champagne Shoot’ in July 2008 against archers from clubs all over Europe. He won the 2007 Robert Wallis Trophy shoot, and the 2009 Crecy shoot. He came 1st in the season average for 2009 and 2010 (based on the best 10 shoots during the year) and was also 1st in the Highest Handicap Average in 2009.

He held the club highest score record from July 2007 to June 2008 and again from August 2009 to present with a remarkable score of 148.

He is the clubs 'academic', with degrees in Egyptian Archaeology and Archaeology & Anthropology (even got an MA in this one and at Oxford!) - and is a science fiction/horror writer - see some of his output at: http://www.eternalnight.co.uk/fiction/2002F/thefinalact.html

Ed also has a more recent book entitled “Disciple of a Dark God”, available in bookshops as of 2011. If you ask him nicely, he might sell you a signed copy!
